Role: Private Client Solicitor

Proper Recruitment are excited to share this latest opportunity to join a busy law firm in North London. Our clients are looking for an experienced solicitor to join their private client team. Working closely with one of the partners in the private client team who is the Head of our Probate and Private Wealth Disputes Departments, the role provides excellent exposure to litigation, private client as well as some commercial work.

Responsibilities

  • Taking on matters within the department, with cases and transactions including (but not limited to) matters involving contentious probate and trust disputes, generally chancery litigation to also include some insolvency matters.

  • Assisting the Head of Department in managing their caseload; carrying out legal research and general administrative tasks as well as developing client relationship skills.

  • Overseeing junior team members, to include trainee solicitors and paralegals.

  • Dealing directly with clients to take instructions and deliver on client expectations.

  • Identifying and following relevant SRA principles and rules of professional conduct.

  • Complying with risk management processes and policies.

  • Contributing to business development and identify networking and marketing opportunities internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in a contentious private client/commercial practice.

  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, organisational, and administrative skills.

  • Adept client care skills and ability to manage own contentious caseload.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel as well as legal tools such as Westlaw, PLC and Lexis Nexis.

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years PQE as a Private Client Solicitor.

  • The candidate will have some sort of experience Private Client Law, and Contentious Probate or general Litigation.

  • Must have obtained a 2:1 or First degree.

Salary:

£60,000 - £65,000
